Alaska's minimum wage has been $7.75. The standard work week for employees can not exceed 40 hours per week. Employees are entitled to overtime after 8 hours in one day, unless a voluntary flexible 4 day, 10-hour workweek is in place. AKOSH, the Alaska Occupational Safety and Health Section, promotes safe and healthful working conditions in Alaska. Under the Alaska youth employment laws, an employee under 18 years of age who is scheduled to work six consecutive hours is entitled to 30 minute breaks during workday.*
