specifically excludes public sector employees, agricultural and
domestic workers, independent contractors, workers employed by a parent

Railway Labor Act.

Connecticut's minimum wage is $8.00 per hour effective 1-1-09 and $8.25 per hour effective 1-1-10. The Gratuity Allowance is 31% for waitpersons effective 1-1-09 and 11% for bartenders effective 1-1-09. Connecticut General Statute allow employers to use Electronic Monitoring devices such as telephone, camera, hidden cameras, radio, computer, wire, electromagnetic, photo-optical, and any photo electronic.*
Public employer must furnish to employees a place of employment free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious harm to employees. Public employers must comply with occupational safety and health standards issued under the job Job and Safety Act. Under Connecticut law employee have rights in health insurance. Coverage must include: Emergency treatment, The right to appeal a decision made by your insurance company, Preventive cancer screenings, Mental health coverage, Lyme disease treatment, and Diabetes care-among others.*
Connecticut has added transgender Status
to classes protected from discrimination in Employment, Housing, Public
Accommodations and Credit Transactions. The phrase "mental retardation" was changed to "intellectual disability".
