Who is exempt from the NLRA Notice?Most
private employers are required to post the NLRA Poster. The law
specifically excludes public sector employees, agricultural and
domestic workers, independent contractors, workers employed by a parent
or spouse, and employees of air and rail carriers covered by the
Railway Labor Act.

Effective July 24, 2009 the District of Columbia minimum wage is $8.25 per hour with overtime required after 40 hours. The rate is automatically set at $1 above the Federal minimum wage rate if the District of Columbia's minimum wage is lower. Maximum daily work hours for minors are 8 hours. Night work is prohibited for minors 16 and 17 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. During Parental leave, an employee shall not lose any employment benefits or seniority accrued before or during the time of leave.*
