The new NLRA notice comes with a mandatory size
requirement of 11” x 17”. Who is exempt from the NLRA Notice?Most
private employers are required to post the NLRA Poster. The law
specifically excludes public sector employees, agricultural and
domestic workers, independent contractors, workers employed by a parent
or spouse, and employees of air and rail carriers covered by the
Railway Labor Act.
If you operate a restaurant you must
purchase a separate Minimum Wage Order specifically for the restaurant
industry.

The New York State minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. Any increase in the federal minimum wage above the State's rate will result in an increase in the State's minimum wage.*
Students 14 and 15 enrolled in an approved work/study program may work 3 hours on a school day, 23 hours in any one-week when school is in session. Students 16 and 17 enrolled in an approved Cooperative Education Program may work up to 6 hours on a day preceding a school day other than a Sunday or Holiday when school is in session, as long as the hours are in conjunction with the Program. 6 AM to 10 PM or until midnight with written parental and educational authorities consent on day preceding a school day and until midnight on day preceding a non-school day with written parental consent.*
Overtime Law: For most occupations, employees must be paid overtime after 40 hours of work in a week at 1 ˝ times their hourly rate of pay. For residential employees, the overtime rate applies after 44 hours.*
