The Maine minimum wage is $7.50 per hour. Employers must keep, for three years, accurate records of hours worked and wages paid to all employees. Employers cannot make a special contract or agreement with an employee to exempt that employee from minimum wage or overtime. The Maine human rights act prohibits sex discrimination. Any unwelcome sexual advances, suggestive or lewd remarks will be handled by the Human Rights Commission office. State law requires employers to provide workers’ compensation insurance for its employees.*
