The new NLRA notice comes with a mandatory size
requirement of 11” x 17”. Who is exempt from the NLRA Notice?Most
private employers are required to post the NLRA Poster. The law
specifically excludes public sector employees, agricultural and
domestic workers, independent contractors, workers employed by a parent
or spouse, and employees of air and rail carriers covered by the
Railway Labor Act.

Washington minimum wage is $8.67 per hour. Washington's minimum wage will be $9.04 starting January 1, 2012. Employers may not use tips to make up any part of the minimum wage. L&I will no longer require a separate poster listing the new minimum wage each time the wage changes. Employers are still required to post the “Your Rights as a Worker” poster which contains various related labor law poster rights.*
Employees must be paid 1½ times the regular rate for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. Agricultural workers are generally exempt from overtime. Since January 1, 2001, and annually thereafter, the rate will be adjusted for inflation by a calculation using the consumer price index for urban wage earners and clerical workers for the prior year.*
The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), and WISHA inspects workplaces to identify hazards and improve safety, investigates complaints of unsafe workplaces, and provides free on-site consultations to help employers identify and fix hazards. They also offer education and training to promote a safer workplace.*
